As you arrive at our church’s location (RecWest, Footscray) you’ll notice a couple of friendly Laneway faces standing below a red flag, near the building’s entrance.
These Laneway members will walk with you into our part of the building and introduce you to some others.
Our suggestion is to arrive by 9:50. This will give you a chance to grab a tea or coffee (barista’d or cold brew), get to meet somebody and find a seat.
Our services begin at 10am. We’re convinced it’s a great gift from God to gather together. As we do, we will sing songs together, be led in prayer, hear a portion of the Bible read, and hear God’s Word preached to us.
Often we will also hear about how God has been at work in somebody’s life at Laneway or in those who we partner with across the world. We also share in communion roughly once a month together.
If any of that sounds new or confronting, don’t worry. You won’t be made to do anything. And we care about those who are joining us, so we work hard to make everything as easy for you to join as possible.
After our service finishes, we like to say that our time together continues. This is our chance to grab (another) coffee, some great food and get to know some Laneway members.
After a time we usually have a group grab lunch together, or once a month we have an I’m New Lunch for those who’ve started coming along recently. These are open to all, and we’d love you to join us.
If you’re bringing a child (or a whole tribe) along, we’re pretty sure they’ll have a great time.
Babies | Your baby is completely welcome in our service, as long as you are. If at any stage you’d prefer, we have a Parents Area with toys and refreshments where you’ll be able to join in on everything.
1-2 year olds | Our 1-2 Year Olds sing songs, play fun and age-appropriate games, and hear the Bible in a way that is easy for them to understand.
3-5 year olds | Our Explorers have a great time every week playing games, making some craft and hearing from the Bible.
6-11 year olds | Our Adventurers start off with the Explorers and then head into their own room to enjoy games, Bible-time and hanging out.
